62 proposals submitted for the 2020 Helmholtz AI project call

After a swift external review process, funding decisions are expected by the end of Q1 2021.

The 2020 Helmholtz AI project call closed on December 1st with 62 submitted project proposals, 7 more than for the previous 2019 call. After a swift external review process, funding decisions are expected by the end of Q1 2021.

Helmholtz AI projects address cross-center ML/AI challenges and methods; they should be seed-like, collaborative and have the potential to quickly spawn larger follow-up projects; solutions should be co-developed with potential users. Applicants may get up to €200k from the funding line.

This year, the launch of a dedicated project workspace helped potential applicants find partners to submit joint applications. Even though the call for projects is now closed, the Helmholtz AI project workspace will remain open as a networking space for and thriving meeting point for the whole community.
