Helmholtz is investing 3.45 million Euro in collaborative projects in the field of metadata generation and data enrichment in a first funding round for Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration (HMC) projects.
Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration funds 9 projects addressing metadata challenges
The Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration (HMC) is one of our sister platforms of the Helmholtz Incubator for Information and Data Science. With their annual project call, HMC facilitates endeavours to enrich data with metadata in the various phases of its creation and to develop and implement concepts and services for this purpose.
The two-year projects serve as important use cases for the community and push the targeted development of tools and solutions for metadata handling. They will address various topics in the context of metadata, including the development of interoperable metadata standards for image files, the harmonisation of metadata standards between the research areas of health, environment and earth observation, and the development of a workflow platform for Archiving of all processes of a scientific project.
