Submit an AI solution that helps identify agricultural land from Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery by 30 September 2021
AI4EO ENHANCED SENTINEL 2 AGRICULTURE CHALLENGE
Agriculture plays a central role globally by providing food for people and livestock or materials for industrial processes. It is a driver of economic growth and will play an essential role in reducing the impact of climate change and greening our economies. Accurate and reliable agricultural data is therefore paramount to ensure food security and global subsistence.
The AI4EO Enhanced Sentinel 2 Agriculture challenge is carried out and funded under a programme of the European Space Agency (ESA) and was designed in collaboration with the Data Science in Earth Observation department at TUM/DLR, which is connected to Helmholtz AI. The goal is to map cultivated land using Copernicus Sentinel imagery and develop solutions to extract as much information as possible from the native resolution of 10-meters per pixel. Participants are requested to produce output datasets on an area of interest in Slovenia.
