Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration: Call for applications

The Helmholtz Association announced the 2022 call for projects by the Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration (HMC) platform. Deadline: 06 July 2022

The annual call of our sister platform Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration (HMC) is now open for applications of collaborative projects from at least two different Helmholtz Centers (or two AST programs). Project funding is available for up to 2 years with a maximum of €200,000 per project applied for from the Initiative and Networking Fund (INF). Matching funding of at least the same amount must be provided by the participating centers. Applications can be submitted until 06 July 2022. Information events are offered to accompany the call for proposals (see below).

The HMC is one of our sister platforms of the Helmholtz Incubator Framework for Information and Data Science. It develops and implements concepts and technologies to use high-quality metadata for research data from all Helmholtz centers and to make them findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR) for the whole scientific community. HMC works closely with the national research data infrastructure (NFDI), the Research Data Alliance (RDA), its European counterpart the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and the German initiative called Deutsche Initiative für Netzwerkinformation e. V. (DINI).

With their annual project call, HMC has the goal to initiate and enable activities that deal with practical challenges in the area of metadata generation and data enrichment. The call aims to fund promising joint projects whose results have the potential to be incorporated into the HMC framework at the end of the project period.

In addition, HMC offers virtual accompanying information events and open consulting hours related to the project call:
