Alexander Oberstraß receives a Mitacs Globalink Research Award

Alexander Oberstraß, a Helmholtz AI PhD student at Forschungszentrum Jülich, will travel to Canada for a 3-month research stay.

 

Alexander Oberstraß, a PhD student in the Helmholtz AI Research Group of Timo Dickscheidat the Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), received a Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA) to Canada and will join McGill University and MILA for three months this summer. GRA supports research collaborations between Canada and partner organisations to promote that successful senior undergraduate students, graduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows work in a research project during 12-24 weeks in other countries. In this regard, Alexander Oberstraß´s research will focus on the automatic characterization of cortical nerve fiber distribution patterns in the human hippocampus from ultrahigh resolution 3D polarised light imaging.
